Diana Iaboni
Toronto Dancer

Diana was born and raised in Toronto, and joined Culture Shock Toronto (CSTO) in 2009. She has loved dance ever since she was a little girl, and started her dance career by dancing to Madonna and Michael Jackson in her living room!

She took ballet and jazz classes when she was younger, but it wasn't until her high school’s talent show (where she performed Janet Jackson's “Pleasure Principle”) that she fell in love with hip hop. In university, she was a member of Silhouette's Dance Company for 3 years, choreographing, performing, and sharing her love for dance.

Diana heard about Culture Shock Toronto (CSTO) through Vanessa, a CSTO member and close friend. In 2007, Vanessa told Diana to check out a CSTO company class, knowing that Diana was a big hip hop fan. Diana immediately loved the atmosphere and the people and continued attending classes. In 2009, having finished university, she decided to audition and become an official CS dancer.

Diana’s favourite aspect of CSTO is the weekly company classes where she gets to learn and perform a variety of styles and choreography, taught by her fellow CSTO crew. CSTO has provided her with the perfect opportunity to grow as a dancer, to develop into an instructor, and to become a better person.

Diana will continue to use what CS has taught her in all aspects of her life, especially as a future teacher. She hopes to bring her passion and commitment for dance to schools, and provide students with the positive and safe environment that CSTO has provided for her.
