Rosalie (Rosie) Thénor-LouisToronto Dancer

Rosalie was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario and just recently moved to Toronto to work for the CBC. She has been part of the Culture Shock family for several years and was the Artistic Director of Culture Shock Ottawa before joining Culture Shock Toronto (CSTO). Along with her ever-present smile, Rosalie brings a genuine warmth and positivity to CSTO, as well as her abilities as a choreographer and teacher.

Rosalie started taking ballet, tap, and jazz when she was young, and, in high school, started learning hip hop. She first heard of Culture Shock (CS) when she was taking hip hop classes during her first year of university and auditioned 4 years later in 2003 for CS Ottawa.

CS has offered her many opportunities as a dancer, from teaching Youth Outreach kids to becoming Artistic Director. These experiences have enabled her to grow as a person and to develop skills, both artistic and professional, that have helped her in her life. Her favourite opportunity has been to present her choreographed pieces on stage with the troupe and with kids from CS Ottawa’s many Youth Outreach programs. Because her experience with CS Ottawa was so positive, Rosalie did not hesitate to continue in Toronto and join CSTO to begin a new journey here.

From Ottawa to Toronto, Rosalie will forever be part of the Culture Shock family; she will continue to develop her skills, both as a dancer and a supporter of the organization. For Rosalie, it is an ongoing adventure. .
