Du Parc YMCA, Montreal

As invited guests at the YMCA's youth fitness program, Culture Shock Montreal performed a hip hop dance demonstration at the gym. The troupe then taught a class for the youth enrolled in the program as well as for those involved in the adjoining drop-in Youth Activity Centre. This event helped promote exercise and healthy lifestyles among young people.

Davis Park, Montreal West – La Fête des Québécois

Montreal West, a residential community halfway between downtown Montreal and Pierre-Elliott Trudeau (Dorval) International Airport, held an evening of revelry for St. Jean Baptiste, La Fête des Québécois. Culture Shock Montreal, in collaboration with a few members of the Ottawa troupe, gave a featured performance and is proud to have been invited to be a part of the celebrations.

Back 2 Life, June 18-19, 2004

Teaming up with Canadian Culture Shock troupes, CS Montreal was an integral part of two full-length recitals of hip hop and music. The show was presented at two of the most revered artistic venues in the country: the NAC and the SLC.

Hampstead Park – Pre-St. Jean Baptiste / Pre-Canada Day Celebrations

Although the town of Hampstead is located just fifteen minutes away from downtown Montreal, it has maintained distinctive character in its beautiful homes, parks and green space. To kick off Canada Day and St. Jean Baptiste Day celebrations, Hampstead held an evening of outdoor activities, food and fireworks for the whole family. Culture Shock Montreal performed as a part of the festivities. National Youth Outreach director Marc-André Clément got the crowd on its feet by teaching an upbeat combo at the end of the performance.

Place Ville-Marie – Mercedes-Benz Canada, “La Kermesse” – Grand Prix

Dancing on the Mercedes-Benz stage on the outdoor concourse of Place Ville-Marie during the famous Canadian Grand Prix weekend, Culture Shock Montreal collaborated with a handful of Ottawa troupe members in two lunch-hour performances. Featuring a stunning display of high performance AMG vehicles, “La Kermesse” presented an extensive range of entertainment in the heart of downtown Montreal. Large crowds, perfect weather, and a spellbinding beat – what else could you ask for? Culture Shock is honoured to have been a part of this occasion.

Olympic Stadium, Centre Sportif – Relais Synergie Montreal 2004

This event was hosted by the Pulmonary Association of Quebec and was housed in the beautiful sports centre beside Montreal’s Olympic Stadium. Boasting more than 500 participants from a vast array of Quebec companies, Relais Synergie was a 6-hour corporate sports challenge to improve employee fitness and awareness of heart and respiratory health. Activities included aerobics, dance, indoor rock climbing, yoga, volleyball, kayaking, water polo, trampoline, fencing, running and swimming. As guest performers, Culture Shock Montreal closed the evening by performing a hip hop routine on the aerobics stage. The troupe was proud to have been able to convey energy and enthusiasm for dance as a fun and inspiring component of an active lifestyle.

Mont-Tremblant – Spin Symposium 2004
March 28 and April 3, 2004

In collaboration with dancers from Culture Shock Ottawa, the Montreal troupe held several performances at the Mont-Tremblant Village as a part of the Spin Symposium celebrations. The largest festival of snow and extreme sports in eastern North America, Spin Symposium featured 10 days of competitions, outdoor demonstrations, DJ spinning, and a huge array of live music. Warm weather and excellent snow conditions brought out the best boarders, skiers and extreme sportists of the American East. Culture Shock troupe members enjoyed dancing around a Volkswagen GTI, which was later awarded to the person with the best Skiercross performance. Culture Shock Youth Outreach Director Marc-André Clément also got the crowd involved by teaching an energetic dance combination. Spin Symposium sponsors included Atomic, Columbia, Nokia, Nintendo, Coors, Wolkswagen, RDS, MusiquePlus and featured a host of media coverage in April, 2004.

John Abbott College – Variety Show
April 15, 2004

Culture Shock Montreal gave a guest performance at the Cégep John Abbott College Variety Show in April. Named after Sir John Abbott, Canada’s third prime minister, this college is located near the most western tip of Montreal Island. The variety show featured student performances in song, rap, and dance.

A l’occasion de la fête de la St. Jean Baptiste à Montréal Ouest, entre la centre ville et l’aéroport Pierre-Elliott Trudeau, Culture Shock, en collaboration avec la troupe d’Ottawa, a fait une représentation. Culture Shock, invité spéciale de cette événement, est fière d’avoir participé à la fête des Québécois.

Back 2 Life, le 18-19 juin, 2004

Pour cet événement, Culture Shock Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto et Hamilton se sont réunis pour un spectacle de deux heures incluant la danse et la musique hip-hop. Il a eu deux représentations, une à Ottawa et une à Toronto, le NAC et le SLC, deux lieux artistiques connus.

Pour célébrer les fêtes de la St. Jean Babtiste et la journée de Canada, Hamstead a organisé des activités en plein air pour toute la population. Culture Shock a fait une représentation pour ces festivités suivi d’un cours accessible à tous.

Place Ville-Marie – Mercedes-Benz Canada, “La Kermesse” – Grand Prix

Sur la Place Ville-Marie, sur le podium de Mercedez-Benz, Culture Shock, en collaboration avec la troupe d’Ottawa, a donné deux représentations pour les festivités du Grand Prix. Culture Shock est fière d’avoir participé à cet événement convivial au cœur du centre ville de Montréal.

Le Stade Olympique, Centre Sportif – Relais Synergie Montréal 2004

Le Centre Sportif du Stade Olympique a accueilli un événement sportif pour promouvoir l’Association Pulmonaire de Québec. 500 participants, provenant de différentes compagnies Québécoises, ont participé à cette manifestation. Après six heures d’activités cardio vasculaires incluent la danse aérobique, le yoga, du volleyball, la natation, la course et le trampoline, Culture Shock a clotûré la soirée par une représentation de danse hip hop. C’est avec beaucoup d’enthousiasme que Culture Shock a participé à cet événement qui promouvoie le bien-être et la santé.

Mont-Tremblant – Spin Symposium 2004
Le 28 mars et le 3 avril, 2004

Pour le Spin Symposium célébrations à Mont Tremblant, Culture Shock Montréal et Ottawa ont fait plusieurs représentations sur la neige et dans le village. Cet festival, d’une durée de dix jours, est un des plus grand événement de sports extrêmes incluant des compétitions de ski, de snowboard, des animations musicales, et également des spectacles de danse. Les représentations ont étaient suivi d’un cours accessible à tous.

Collège John Abbott

Culture Shock a était invite par le Cégep John abbott à participer à un spectacle d’étudiants. Cette soirée a regroupé des représentations en danse, musique et rap.
