Le Groupe Dance Lab remains
at the pinnacle of research and development of new dance and is inclusive of all
professional dance forms and championing the very heart and fibre of choreographic
research - the creative process. The Lab embraces seasoned and emerging artists
offering them the opportunity to test the unknown and extend the boundaries of
new dance while maintaining their highest artistic veracity. The Dance Lab is
committed to offering a facility - a safe haven - that makes risk-taking possible
by devoting its expertise and resources, on a full-time basis, to choreographers
who immerse themselves in the creative process. Since
its beginnings in 1967, UFO has been taking military surplus as its inspiration
and adapting it to the times... using music, arts, politics, and contemporary
ideologies as its foundations.
A licensee brought the brand
to Europe, and it was established as a "must wear" brand amongst the
trendsetters. Bell-bottoms, flared silhouettes, high-rises and hip huggers in
new fabrics and silky looks were the soul of UFO. The concept was mixing the rebelliousness
of denim, a fabric that carried a political message, with the creativity inspired
by the streets of New York City. |
